The latest technique for getting rid of those dark undereye circles
The deepening tear troughs that occur below the lower eyelids are a result of loss of volume and thinning of the skin that frequently accompany aging. The shadowing that is created as the tear troughs deepen are always perceived as dark circles and can give the impression that you are older than you are and are tired even it you’re not.

The good new is that with modern techniques and filler products such as Restylane, those dark circles can be treated and improved. I know, because I’ve been doing just that for over a decade and achieving natural results that have to be seen to be believed. At this point in my career, treating tear trough deformities makes up a large portion of my practice and I am always gratified to hear how much patients like the results.
Experience is the best teacher. Word gets around, as you know, and I am often asked to see patients who have had this done elsewhere and are not satisfied. Other physicians in the area know they can send their patients to me with confidence because of my experience with thousands of patients.
The filler that I use, Restylane, has a numbing agent in the product. When you combine that with the effective numbing cream I always apply before I start, patients report almost no discomfort.

We all know the good lip treatments from the bad ones at 50 paces. Almost nothing makes me happier than having a patient come back and tell me that no one noticed and all they heard was how great they looked.
Because I believe this treatment so important, I have evolved a comfortable protocol using Restylane that leaves my patients’ lips looking soft, natural, and very approachable. Although it is mostly art, a good lip treatment needs to satisfy rather strict artistic guidelines of symmetry and proportion. You can blame Leonardo da Vinci, the original perfectionist, who first called it “The Golden Mean.” (Hint: it’s 1:1.618)

They can make you look mad, scared, worried, troubled, or cross, but the one thing they can't give you is a relaxed look. That’s where muscle relaxants come in. Used artfully and carefully they can make you look more relaxed and calm and can literally take years off your appearance.
A few years ago, Pat Wexler, MD, well-known New York “skin genie,” said: “Botox is like grooming now. It’s socially acceptable, even expected.”
Botox was the first such product on the scene in the late 1990’s but it soon gave way to other similar FDA-approved products such as Dysport and, most recently, XEOMIN. I was a Platinum Botox provider for years (that means I performed a lot of treatments) but I’ve been using XEOMIN exclusively in my practice for the last several years because I like it better. My patients like the results more than with any other similar muscle relaxant. I hear that every day.
As with any injectable product, I make every effort to make the procedure comfortable by using anesthetic creams first. My goal, as with any other aesthetic treatment I perform, is to achieve a natural result while avoiding the Cruella de Vil look (remember 101 DALMATIANS?).. I cannot tell you how many patients tell me they have never had a more gentle and more relaxing treatment. I never take it for granted and that still fills me with gratitude and appreciation.
